As Communications Fellow for the City of Boston AIR program, I create content to promote the program and projects produced during the artists' residency. At the Boston AIR program, artists are partnered with civic workers to create projects that address some of the concerns of Boston residents with topics such as housing, equity for Transgender and Non-binary residents, violence prevention among the youth population, and the effects of colonial monuments on public health.
This part-time position was first created to document projects and events, however, with the restrictions on in-person meetings due to the pandemic and the increase in demand for online content, much of the projects are around repurposing digital content for the AIR website and social media. With repurposing content I had to get creative, so I created and launched the Boston AIR podcast, and produced videos using archived images and video and voice-overs to tell a story. Part of my job is to also help create graphics for the @artsinboston Instagram.
Currently, I am working on the design for a public facing document of an evaluation conducted about the program and new podcast episodes where I'll be interviewing AIR cohort members about their current projects.
